John Lewis’s Head of Operations advises retailers to ‘start small’ when considering robotics

Robotics and mechanisation were hugely popular topics for discussion at our Retail Hive Live: Focus on Fulfilment meeting.

In an exclusive interview, John Munnelly, Head of Operations at John Lewis explains how he feels privileged to be part of a major retailer that started its robotics journey over ten years ago and one that has been able to keep up with the pace of change, investing over £150m in this area.

However with robotics becoming more and more affordable, his advice to retailers looking to invest in robotics for the first time is to “consider an entry level system and.. build on that just like a Meccano set.”
