On 25 September 2018, The Retail Hive welcomed over 90 retail leaders at London’s Skyloft for our latest meeting ‘Collaboration for Innovation’.

Nick Lansley, Innovation Expert and former Head of Open Innovation at Tesco Labs opened the meeting with his view on what innovation should mean for retailers today saying, “simplification is what distills innovation and the solution might be complicated to get to, but it should appear simple.”

The day followed with The Retail Hive members taking part in four round table discussions on specific topics including The Future of the High Street, Innovation in Fulfilment, Data and Technology and AI in Retail.

Members had the chance to share their challenges associated with retail innovation before watching 3 tech start-ups present their business propositions to our Dragon’s Den expert retail panel.

Thank you to our start ups Intelligent Robots, Pixoneye, Capito System and to our Hive Dragons David Williams, Chief Operating Officer, Seraphine, Louisa Nicholls, Senior eCommerce Manager – Trading, John Lewis and Dave Crellin, Head of Online Operations, Sainsbury’s.

The incredible Joel Cooper also joined us to document the day through live-sketching the key takeaways illustrated below;

Also huge thanks to our Retail Hive members and partners for being part of a fantastic meeting, we look forward to seeing you all next year and here is the day in pictures.

Keep an eye out for more insights and takeaways from the day.
